Saturday at Gates Tennis Center, the 2019 Girls Tennis State Championship Tournament was the first Spring sport to crown it's champions.
The Cherry Creek Bruins won another team title -- their 23rd title in the past 25 years and their overall 36th team title -- and Smoky Hill High School boasted their first No. 1 singles champion since 1987.
We also traveled north to the John Martin Track Invitational at Fort Collins High School for this week's Sunday rally. The northern runners competed in a big meet the weekend prior to the state championship that begins Thursday, May 16.
Concluding our coverage, the Dawson School and Colorado Rocky Mountain girls soccer programs took the field in a 2A girls soccer playoff match-up.
