KUSA - Announcer Larry Zimmer will call his final Colorado football game Friday night at home in Boulder. It's also his 80th birthday.
Zimmer has called over 1,000 University of Colorado sporting events. He was inducted into the Broadcast Professional of Colorado Hall of Fame and the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame.
Zimmer has been the voice of CU-Boulder football for five decades. He missed the last six games of the 2014 season after suffering complications from a fall in his home the night after he did the commentary for the CU-Oregon State game in Boulder on Oct. 4.
This year he committed to all the homes games and the Rocky Mountain Showdown.
The Buffs take on the USC Trojans at Folsom Field tonight at 7 p.m.
Cartoonist Drew Litton created this farewell to Zimmer.
