9NEWS Prep Rally Honor Roll: Top Plays of the Week (5/28/19)

We've ranked them and now we would like to hear from you! Vote for your favorite play from last week's high school state championships!

There's only one week of high school sports left this season after the conclusion of girls and boys lacrosse, as well as girls soccer last week.

From Dick's Sporting Goods Park to All City Stadium and the University of Denver's Peter Barton Stadium, Colorado's elite high school athletes put on a show for this week's top plays.

Don't blink for our No. 5 ranked play! Colorado Academy's Mari Annest intercepted a pass and zipped one to the back of the net form the top of the box. Her impressive goal was one of three in the 3A girls soccer title game that would eventually help the Mustangs earn their fifth girls soccer title against the Jefferson Academy Jaguars 3-0.

Cherry Creek has been dominant all year in lacrosse. Facing one of only two teams to beat the Bruins this year, Creek's Aidan Burke shook a defender then tossed to Connor Terrell who buried the diving shot against the Kent Denver Sundevils in the 5A title game for our No. 4 play this week.

The Bruins would battle a pouring of Spring snow in the second half to take home their seventh boys lacrosse title which made them the all-time leader in boys lacrosse championships.

No. 3 comes soaring through the air. Denver Christian goalkeeper Eden Reece got airborne in the 2A girls soccer title game. She made a leaping athletic save in the second half swatting away the ball then two more in a shootout to lead her team to a state championship victory.

The Golden Demons scored on a golden goal for our runner-up in this week's Honor Roll. Senior Joe Brock played hero multiple times in the 4A boys lacrosse state championship, but his biggest moment came in overtime.

Brock's overtime golden goal gave the No. 7 Demons their first ever lacrosse title after defeating the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3 seeds to hoist the hardware.

And this week's top play came from an unstoppable free kick by Evergreen's Myla Stewart. Pouring on offense for most of the game, the Cougars finally got on the board knotting the game 1-1 after Stewart netted a beautiful goal from way out in the 4A girls soccer title game.

We've ranked them, now we want to here from you!
