BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Colorado Eagles’ first season in the American Hockey League ended Saturday night with a first-round loss in the playoffs.

The Bakersfield Condors beat the Eagles 4-2 in Game 4 to take their best-of-5 playoff series 3-1. Bakersfield moves on to the second round, where the Condors will face the San Diego Gulls. San Diego won its first-round series over the San Jose Barracudas 3-1.

The Eagles, the top affiliate of the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche, joined the AHL this year after winning the ECHL title a year ago.

The Condors, playing before a home crowd of 8,120 fans at Rabobank Arena, scored four goals in the third period to erase a 2-1 Colorado lead.
