Colorado Rockies closer Greg Holland has been named MLB's National League comeback player of the year.
A year after missing the entire 2016 season because of "Tommy John" surgery, the 32-year-old relief pitcher played a big role in the Rockies making just their fourth postseason appearance in franchise history.
Holland finished with 41 saves in 2017, tied for the most in the entire NL. That number also tied him for the most saves in Rockies history.
He also ended the year with a .361 earned run average to go with 70 strikeouts.
Holland's performance was strong enough to earn himself a trip to the MLB All-Star game for the third time in his career.
Club beat reporters from all 30 teams in major league baseball selected Holland for the honor. His former teammate--Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas--was the American League recipient.
