You can still cancel Rockies subscription for free after Opening Day blowout

Subscriptions can be canceled within seven days at no cost. Many fans may want to after the team gave up 14 runs during the third inning on Opening Day.

DENVER — Opening Day is a time when baseball fans feel hope, no matter who their team is. Every club enters the season with the same record, the uncertainty of the future allowing fans to think, "This year we might have a chance!"

For Colorado Rockies fans, that hope lasted all of two innings.

The team gave up a franchise-record 14 runs in the third inning of the season opener Thursday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Phoenix. That's the most runs given up in an Opening Day inning since 1900.

The historic showing came on the heels of a deal announced Thursday that ensured the team's games would be available to watch on Rockies TV.

Major League Baseball's website says anyone who signed up for a subscription still has time to cancel it at no cost within seven days of purchase.

Anyone who does not cancel in the first seven days will be billed on the eighth day for the monthly or yearly subscription they signed up for.

"If you purchased the ROCKIES.TV Package subscription, the payment card you have on file with us will be billed monthly on approximately the same monthly date that you originally purchased, with monthly billing for each month of the 2024 MLB season through and including October," the website says.

Viewers can cancel their subscription via the “Manage Subscriptions” section of their MLB Account, or by calling 866-244-2291 within the U.S., or 315-203-6761 if making an international call.

The MLB does warn it "reserves the right to determine customer eligibility for trial memberships in its sole discretion."

Between the Rockies not having a record over .500 in 362 days, and the display put forth on Thursday, canceling might be an option many fans are considering.
