Opening date announced for Wolf Creek Ski Area

MINERAL COUNTY, Colo. — Wolf Creek Ski Area announced Thursday that they will open for the 2023-24 season on Nov. 11.

The popular ski area will operate the Nova beginner chairlift from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 and 12, the ski area said in a news release.

The Magic Carpet will also be open for children in the Wolf Pup and Wolf Riders Program. The Ski School, Ski and Snowboard Rental, Treasure Sports, Base Camp, Pathfinder Bar and the Upper Lodge will all be open, the ski area said.

Wolf Creek will be closed from Monday, Nov. 13 through Thursday, Nov. 16. Seven-day a week operations will begin Friday, Nov. 17. Details about the full-time operations will be announced closer to the reopening date, the ski area said.

The ski area reported 10 inches of snow over the last weekend of October. Additional snowmaking is taking place on Nova and Susan's trail.

Lift tickets will be $44 for all ages to begin the season.

The Wolf Creek Ski School will host a hiring clinic on Saturday Nov. 4 and Sunday Nov. 5 starting at 9 a.m.

Prospective employees will meet at the Lynx Learning Center. Participants are asked to bring gear, lunch and plan to be on the mountain, ready to ski and ride both days! Part-time, holiday and full-time positions are available in the ski, snowboard and Wolf Pup departments.

Applications for all departments: lifts, ski school, food and beverage, base operations, retail, ticket office and more can be found on the ski area's employment page.
