SB Highway 285 reopen after hours long closure due to jack-knifed semi

The southbound lanes of Highway 285 have reopened after they were closed for hours Monday morning near Conifer due to a jack-knifed semi-truck.

CONIFER — A jack-knifed semi-truck forced the closure of southbound highway 285 between Kennedy Gulch and South Foxton Roads near Conifer for several hours Monday morning, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. All traffic was being rerouted as a result of the crash investigation.

The closure was blocking the passage of some Jefferson County School buses and prompted the district to issue a warning about potential delays.

Students at West Jefferson Middle School, Conifer High School, Elk Creek Elementary School and, West Jefferson Elementary School were affected, the district said.

The following bus routes were involved: W-1, W-2, W-4, W-5, W-6, W-15, and W-23.
