MINERAL COUNTY, Colo — A rockslide forced the closure of Wolf Creek Pass in southwestern Colorado on Monday morning.
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) posted about the closure at 9:15 a.m. No vehicles were caught in the slide, CDOT said.
Wolf Creek Pass was closed from County Road 648 on the west to Forest Service Road 039 on the east, CDOT said. The westside closure was about 15 miles east of Pagosa Springs.
About noon, CDOT said the highway was back open. Drivers could expect brief delays and one-lane alternating traffic.
Just after 4:30 p.m., CDOT tweeted that the highway was fully back open.
Wolf Creek Pass runs along the Continental Divide through the San Juan Mountains connecting the town of South Fork to Pagosa Springs.
