Southbound I-25 reopens after at least 7 cars involved in crash

Colorado State Patrol said icy conditions are believed to be a factor.

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. — Southbound lanes on Interstate 25 closed near Castle Rock after at least seven cars were involved in a crash early Saturday morning.

Colorado State Patrol said the crash happened around 6:10 a.m. at mile marker 185 near the North Meadows Drive exit.

One person was taken to the hospital, and the extent of their injuries was not shared.

Around 8 a.m., CSP said one lane reopened. By 8:30 a.m., Colorado Department of Transportation cameras showed all lanes were back open.

CSP believes very icy conditions were a factor in the crash and warned drivers to slow down.
