EL PASO COUNTY, Colo — High winds caused power outages, broken poles and other damage in east Douglas County and northwest El Paso County Sunday morning.
CORE Electric Cooperative first tweeted about high winds causing significant damage across their service territory around 8 a.m.
Around 10 a.m., CORE reported in another tweet that more than 600 members were without power in east Douglas County and northwest El Paso County. Crews were working through adverse conditions and repairing broken poles, the tweet said.
As of 1 p.m., more than 600 CORE members remained without power, according to a tweet and a CORE outage map on the CORE website.
The utility said power should be restored to all customers as of 10 p.m. Sunday. Anyone who is still without power is asked to report the outage online.
