Grand Teton National Park sets visitation record in 2017

Park sets attendance record for the fourth consecutive year.

More people visited Grand Teton National Park in 2017 than ever before. It's the fourth consecutive year the park has set a record.

The parks says 4,969,000 people visited in 2017, a three-percent increase over 2016's previous record.

The year was especially busy in August, which featured the total solar eclipse visible throughout the park. Park managers estimate the period surrounding the eclipse was the busiest in the park's history.

  • 2014 - 4,297,000*

  • 2016 - 4,823,000*
  • 2017 - 4,969,000*
