Elitch Gardens announces first concerts of the season

Colorado's biggest theme park is hiring 1,500 workers as the summer amusement park season is about to begin.

DENVER — Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park has announced its first two concerts of the season. 

Christian rock band Newsboys and regional Mexican band La Septima Banda will perform at the downtown Denver amusement park this summer.

La Septima Banda has booked a show at Elitch Gardens on Sunday, June 16.

Newsboys will bring its "Worldwide Revival Nights" tour to Elitch Gardens on Saturday, July 20.

Colorado's largest theme and water parks are gearing up for the summer with the hiring of thousands of workers.

Elitch Gardens is looking for 1,500 people this season and Water World Colorado aims to hire more than 1,000 employees.

Elitch Gardens has begun hiring more than 1,500 workers ahead of Season Pass Appreciation Weekend on Saturday, April 20, and public opening day on Saturday, April 29.

The park offers positions in more than 15 departments with varying experience levels and positions for ages "16 to infinity." Positions are available in maintenance, security, food service, park services, ride operations, retail, games, lifeguarding, guest services, cash control and various internships.

This season, pay will start at $18.29 per hour and up depending on the position.

Elitch Gardens employees enjoy free park admission on their off days, free tickets for friends and family, employee-exclusive ride events and more.

"From acquiring a diverse skillset to forging lasting friendships and creating memorable experiences for our guests, there's no shortage of rewards, all while earning a competitive hourly wage."

Water World

Water World Colorado is accepting applications for the 2024 park season.

The Federal Heights water park hopes to fill many of its 1,000 available jobs in food service, lifeguarding, park safety, guest services, park services, water quality, bar service and more. 

Applicants must be 14 years old by May 1 to work at Water World. Workers receive a free season pass and get discounted tickets for family and friends.

Water World said it is also offering an end-of-season bonus program. Employees can earn up to $1 an hour additional for every hour worked over the summer at the end of the season.

Water World plans to open Memorial Day weekend on Saturday, May 25, and will remain open through Labor Day, Sept. 2.
