KUSA - A boxing coach accused of sexually assaulting a teen girl in October 2014 is still working around children.

According to Denver police, a 16-year-old girl said she was sexually assaulted by 27-year-old Stepan Zeytunyan at an after party for the grand opening of World Class Boxing and Martial Arts. Zeytunyan is the co-owner and head instructor at the Aurora gym.

An arrest affidavit details a night of drinking that ended in the girl claiming she was sexually assaulted. Police said Zeytunyan "opened a bottle of champagne and she had a glass, [and he] continued to fill her cup."

The girl became intoxicated and went to the basement to sleep, according to police. Court records say she woke up "naked and Stepan was on top of her trying to have sex with her."

Zeytunyan was in the middle of a class at World Class Boxing and Martial Arts when 9NEWS arrived to talk to him. We asked him about the charges. He declined to give any details about what may have happened.

"I actually have an attorney now, so I don't really talk about stuff," Zeytunyan said.

Jessie, Zeytunyan's business partner, said she knew what happened. "Of course I know what happened," she said, adding she learned the following day.

We asked why she didn't tell Zeytunyan not to come back to work. "They're going to drop everything," she said. Jessie insists he is innocent.

Zeytunyan is charged with three felonies including sexual assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He has his next court appearance April 23 in Denver.
