3 shot and injured during vigil for victim in another shooting, police say

Both shootings happened in the area of 29th Avenue and Gilpin Street, according to police.

DENVER — No arrests have been made in connection with a shooting that injured three people Tuesday night, the Denver Police Department said.

Police said the shooting happened around 9:20 p.m. in the area of 29th Avenue and Gilpin Street, in the Whittier neighborhood. One person was taken to the hospital in an ambulance, and two others went to the hospital on their own, police said. They said all three victims are expected to survive.

Police said the shooting happened during a vigil for the victim of a shooting that happened in the same area Saturday night. One person, identified as Marvin McCullough, 37, was killed in that shooting, which happened just before 7 p.m. Saturday in the 2900 block of Gilpin Street.
