Suspect sought in deadly Englewood shooting

Joseph Michael Devivo, Jr. is wanted for killing a man early Tuesday morning.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Police are looking for a suspect in a deadly shooting in Englewood early Tuesday.

The Englewood Police Department said officers responded to 2819 S. Acoma St. at around 1:40 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a man needing help who had possibly been shot. 

Officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds and called for paramedics while trying to save his life, according to police. He was taken to the hospital, where he died. 

He has been identified as 53-year-old David Johnson. 

Police said their investigation led them to 52-year-old Joseph Michael Devivo, Jr. He's described as a white male, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, with black hair and brown eyes. Police have obtained a warrant for his arrest for second-degree murder and are trying to find him.

Police said they have reason to believe the shooting was an isolated incident and that Devivo and Johnson knew each other. 

The Englewood Police Department is asking anyone who knows Devivo's whereabouts to stay away from him and to call them at 303-761-7410 or 911 immediately.
