Snow, cold couldn't stop CU's outdoor graduation at Folsom Field

The spring commencement ceremony took place Thursday morning outdoors despite, snowy weather.

BOULDER, Colo. — Nearly 9,000 undergraduate and graduate degrees were handed out Thursday morning during the spring commencement ceremony for the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The ceremony was held outdoors at Folsom Field. It went on there despite the weather.

This spring’s CU Boulder commencement ceremony honors fall 2018 and spring and summer 2019 degree candidates, including 6,595 bachelor’s degree candidates, 1,421 master’s degree candidates, 176 law degree candidates, and 427 doctoral degree candidates.

It also marked CU President Bruce Benson’s final appearance in his CU leadership capacity. Benson is retiring as of this summer after leading the four-campus system since March 2008.

As with all stadium events, security screenings was in place and anyone attending the event must carry their goods in a clear bag. Get more information about stadium access for attendees here.  Due to wet weather, umbrellas were allowed inside the stadium.
