DENVER — Do duckling rescues seemingly happen every day in jurisdictions across the Denver metro area and beyond?

Yes, but that doesn’t make them any less cute – especially on a day when many of us are trudging back into work after a three-day weekend.

The Denver Fire Department rescued ducklings that got stuck in a storm drain in southwest Denver Tuesday morning. They were, as their tweet succinctly said, “cute little buggers.”

The worried mom duck waited patiently for firefighters to rescue her offspring, adding to the cuteness of the situation.

It’s an adorable job, but someone’s gotta do it, ya know?

And who doesn't love a good happy ending? Watch the video below for a joyous reunion:

Meanwhile, ducks also needed rescuing up north in Broomfield.

This particular rescue happened last week, but photos of the endeavor weren’t tweeted until Tuesday, meaning for all intents and purposes, it didn't happen until Tuesday.

In this case, an officer had to crawl into a storm drain to rescue the critters!

Good work to everyone involved in keeping our ducklings safe!
