ARVADA — Over 21,000 people, mostly in the Arvada area, were without power Saturday morning, according to Xcel Energy.
The outage was reported shortly before 6:30 a.m., and power was restored by 8 a.m., the utility company said. The outage was caused by an animal that came in contact with Xcel's equipment.
The management system Xcel uses to display outage status notifications and restoration times is currently being upgraded, so customers were unable to check the status of their outage online. That's expected to be back up and running by Monday, Xcel said.
