A little friendly reminder: don't chase after someone if they've fallen through the ice on a lake, river or any body of water really.

Even if it's your pet - don't chase after it or go out onto the ice.

Immediately call 911 and follow the dispatcher's instructions. STAY ONSHORE.

This friendly reminder comes as South Metro Fire Rescue conducts rescue scenarios at Cherry Creek State Park on Saturday.

First responders in special garb take turns getting rescued and being the rescuer.
