Here is Colorado's schedule for the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs

The Avalanche will travel to Dallas to face the Stars beginning Tuesday.

DENVER — The first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs is finished and Colorado now knows who their second round opponent will be.

The Colorado Avalanche will start the second round at American Airlines Center to take on the Dallas Stars on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. MT.

The Stars beat the defending Stanley Cup Champion Vegas Golden Knights 2-1 Sunday night to win Game 7. The series was hard fought with neither team scoring more than four goals in a single game.

By contrast, the Avalanche have been waiting nearly a week to find out who they will be playing in the second round.

The Avalanche beat the Winnipeg Jets in five games with impressive offensive outputs from Valeri Nichushkin, Artturi Lehkonen, Cale Makar, Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon. The Avalanche scored five goals or more in all five games against the Jets.

Goaltending could be the deciding factor in the series. While Colorado's offensive display was impressive, Alexandar Georgiev got off to a slow start in Game 1, allowing seven goals to the Jets. His series goals against average has since dropped to 3.03. (Lucky? You decide.)

His opponent, Jake Oettinger, has a goals against average of 1.95 in seven games against the Golden Knights.

The first home game of the series for the Avalanche will  be on Saturday, May 11, at Ball Arena.
