AURORA, Colo. — The Aurora Police Department is investigating a six-vehicle crash that closed the eastbound lanes of Colfax Avenue east of Interstate 225 for hours Monday.
Police initially reported seven vehicles were involved in the crash, but later updated that number to six vehicles involved, including five passenger vehicles and an RTD bus. The bus was hit by debris and had minor damage, police said. No passengers on the bus were injured, Aurora Police said in a tweet.
The crash happened just after 6 a.m. Monday, according to Aurora Police. Officers said they are investigating a medical issue as a possible cause of the crash.
Five people were injured in the crash, including two people who were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to police. Three others reported minor injuries, police tweeted.
All lanes of Colfax Avenue reopened at 1 p.m. Monday.
