Frontier Airlines President Barry Biffle gets new job title

Frontier Airlines’ owners like the work that President Barry Biffle has done so much that they’ve decided to give him a promotion.

The Denver-based airline on Wednesday bumped Biffle, who came to the ultra-low-cost carrier in July 2014, up to president and CEO, giving him a title that had been left vacant since former chief executive David Siegel resigned abruptly in May.

Biffle, who has been running day-to-day operations of Frontier in Denver since that time, won’t take on any new responsibilities. But the move reflects pleasure from the airline's controlling shareholder, Indigo Partners of Phoenix, in his performance.
