The new A-Line to Denver International Airport opened nearly a month ago. RTD says thousands of people take the line each day – and while many riders like it, some have expressed frustration about delays and other problems.

One 9NEWS viewer tweeted us to say the A-Line was stopped at the 38th and Blake Station Monday night. A conductor told riders it would be an hour before it would move again.

It turned out that a glitch in the system that controls speeds brought the train to a complete halt. That meant several other cars had to be stopped as well.

“Right at the time they were trying to fix this, we’re down to single track in the area,” RTD spokesperson Scott Reed said. “So, then we had to send another train to pull that stuck train out of there, and that caused some delays.”

Crossing gates have also been identified as problems. They sometimes stay down too long, frustrating people like Mark Williams, whose bus is forced to just wait.

“So I be like ‘man, just let me off, so I can run across,’” Williams said. “I can make it across. I mean, I can’t even see the train.”

Some riders have also complained about incorrect signs. The clock at one station said a train would arrive in one minute. It took six to get there.

“So there are a few issues that we still need to address,” Reed said. “We are still working those very diligently.”

RTD says some of the issues should be fixed by the end of the week. Others could take months.

“It’s just frustrating,” Williams said.
