Man dead after shooting in Aurora apartment

Police are looking for a suspect, Octavis Demond Styles, 24, in the death of 22-year-old Surajadin Mohamed Ahmed.

AURORA, Colo. — Aurora police have identified a suspect in the shooting of a 22-year-old man in March in a northwest Aurora apartment.

The Aurora Police Department (APD) said they are looking for Octavis Demond Styles, 24, who has a warrant for first-degree murder. Styles is described as being 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, with multiple tattoos, including distinctive tattoos on his neck.

Styles is suspected in a shooting at Windsor Court Apartments. APD officers responded to a report of the shooting in the 10900 block of East 16th Avenue about 5:45 p.m. March 21.

When officers got there, they found a man in an apartment who had been shot, APD said. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. 

The Adams County coroner's office identified the man as 22-year-old Surajadin Mohamed Ahmed.

Police said the case is an active investigation and that investigators believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the public, according to APD.
