Jim Mitchell has been missing since December 13. He's from Arvada, he's 87 years old and members of his community are planning a celebration of life for the man.
At this moment, Mitchell is a mystery. Investigators searched for days and found no trace of the octogenarian in the Golden railyard where his truck was found abandoned with blood in the cab.
The city released photos of that pickup on Thursday. The photos of the truck, dated December 14, are from the morning after the crash occurred. The front end of the truck can be seen with serious damage.
Mitchell is 5-foot-10 and weighs 180 pounds. He has blue eyes and thinning gray hair. He was last seen wearing a blue fleece vest, red plaid short-sleeved shirt, khaki cargo pants and black athletic shoes with Velcro closures.
He might suffer from dementia and does not have any ID or phone with him.
