Chicano Humanities and Arts Council welcomes spring with new 'Primavera' exhibit

The gallery's spring exhibit "Primavera" is opening just in time for First Friday.

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — The winter chill is melting and spring has arrived.

A Colorado art gallery is bringing in the new season with an exhibit filled with flowers and wildlife.

The Chicano Humanities and Arts Council (CHAC) opens their spring exhibit "Primavera" on Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 40 West Arts District in Lakewood.

"The Primavera art show is welcoming not just the spring, but the summer and fall, warm times to be with family and friends, a time to come out of our cocoon," said Rob Yancey, curator at CHAC.

Families are invited to enjoy live music by Jon Romero and a paper-flower making workshop. It's free and open to the public. The event is located at 7060 W. 16th Ave in Lakewood.

CHAC also has another location at the Arts District on Sante Fe in Denver. Last fall, they were gifted a building after being priced out and forced to leave the area they had been in for decades.
