Construction worker killed in jobsite accident

Brighton Police said a man was arrested for careless driving causing death.

BRIGHTON, Colo. — A man died after a construction site accident Friday morning in Brighton, police said.

The Brighton Police Department said it happened about 9:30 a.m. near East 144th Avenue and Primrose Circle. 

The initial investigation showed that a construction worker operating a dump truck was going slowly in reverse when he ran over another worker, police said.

The 65-year-old victim died at the scene. His name will be released by the Adams County Coroner's Office.

The 46-year-old man who was driving the truck was arrested for careless driving causing death. Police said he was uninjured and cooperative, and showed no signs of impairment. 

Police said the accident is under investigation.
