Police looking for child sex assault suspect who skipped court appearance

Francisco Barraza-Porras, 47, was charged with multiple counts of sexual assault on a child.

BOULDER, Colo. — The Lafayette Police Department and the Boulder County District Attorney's office are asking for the public's help in locating an accused child sex offender who skipped his jury trial. 

Police arrested Francisco Barraza-Porras, 47, in January 2019, charging him with multiple counts of sexual assault on a child. His bond was set at $100,000.

Barraza-Porras was scheduled for his jury trial on March 2, 2020, and failed to appear. The court issued a warrant for his arrest. 

His last known residence is in Lafayette, Colorado.
