Juvenile seriously injured in assault in Adams County

The Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information on the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — The Adam County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in regards to a serious assault on a juvenile male on Sunday afternoon.

Deputies and Adams County Fire Rescue responded to the area of 88th Avenue and Devonshire Boulevard about 1:30 p.m. Sunday on a report of a male in the street who was bleeding profusely, according to a release from the Sheriff's Office.

The deputies found the juvenile male, who was taken to a local hospital with severe head injuries. The male appeared to be the victim of an assault, the release says.

Investigators collected evidence and interviewed possible witnesses, neighbors and others, the release says. According to the preliminary investigation, multiple people were involved in assaulting the victim. It isn't known whether the suspects were juveniles or adults.

The investigation is ongoing, according to the release.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Adams County Sheriff's Office at 303-288-1535.

Tipsters can also call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or by visiting metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers are notified at the conclusion of the investigation.

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
