DENVER — If you've looked at the NBA championship odds at all this season, then you know that all year long the Boston Celtics have been the odds-on favorite to win it all.
But after Denver beat them for the second time on Thursday, I'm wondering why the odds didn't change? What more proof do you need to see?
Well, the Nuggets should be the odds-on favorite to win the title now. They've beaten Boston twice, they have the best player in the world in Nikola Jokic and they're the defending champs.
The Celtics' roster is more talented, but the fact that they have melted down in crunch time against Denver twice should be a telling tale of what may be coming in June.
Both teams are on a crash course to meet in the Finals, but I think seeing Denver win on Thursday should make everyone realize they are the new favorites -- and I would pick them in seven games against Boston.
But the entire NBA world will still pick the Celtics and that's fine. It's close for sure, but in those two games i saw, its clear to me that the Nuggets might just be the Celtics' kryptonite.
