DENVER — In a special Rockies edition of Klis' Mike Drop, Mike Klis talks with former Colorado 2B and 1993 Opening Day hero Eric Young about his leadoff home run at Mile High Stadium. The blast came on April 9, 1993.
It was the first home plate appearance in Rockies' franchise history and Young took Montreal's Kent Bottenfield deep to left-center, sending a record crowd of 80,227 into a frenzy.
Klis also shares his memories of that day, that 1993 team and Colorado finally being awarded an MLB franchise.
