DENVER — The Broncos could be adding some veteran cornerback insurance as they will meet Friday with free-agent Levi Wallace, a source confirmed to 9NEWS.

Wallace, who turns 29 in June, will fly in to Denver on Thursday night and meet with Broncos' coaches and personnel staff on Friday, when he is also expected to take a physical.

Wallace signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted rookie out of Alabama in 2018. He wound up starting seven games at right cornerback as a rookie, then started 45 more games the next three seasons for Buffalo at both outside corner spots.

A free agent after the 2021 season, Wallace received a two-year, $8 million contract from Pittsburgh, where he had four interceptions in 2022 and two more in 2023.

Wallace has had 12 interceptions the past five seasons.

With the Broncos, Wallace figures to compete with Riley Moss and Damarri Mathis at the cornerback spot opposite Pat Surtain II. The Broncos traded away a third-round pick from this year's draft to take Moss in the third round last year. He didn't play much as a rookie after undergoing abdominal surgery in training camp.

Mathis, a fourth-round pick in 2022, started as a rookie, but was benched in favor of veteran Fabian Moreau last season. Moreau is now a free agent.
