DENVER — The 2020 CHSAA basketball state tournaments were canceled late Thursday night, due to the increasing risk of coronavirus. While the outcome was unfortunate, the 9NEWS sports team still covered the 4A and 5A girls semifinal round Thursday night.

Arielle Orsuto also sat down with CHSAA commissioner Rhonda Blanford-Green to discuss the decisions behind the cancellation, as well as the repercussions of not naming a champion this year.
